When I painted "A Journey towards Hope", I wanted to capture the exact moment the world finally catches its breath. The whitish-blue expanse isn’t just a backdrop; it is a canvas of pure possibility—the light that breaks through once the "red sky" seasons of our lives have finally passed.
In this space, the seagulls are more than just birds to me. They are companions. I painted them in a spirited, collective formation to remind us that we were never meant to carry the weight of hope alone. They fly together, celebrating the audacity of leaving the safety of the shore to trust the air beneath their wings. Their movement suggests a beautiful truth: that hope is a shared joy found in community, a rhythmic dance of the Ruach—the breath of life—lifting us all at once.
Beneath them, the peaceful sea and the limitless horizon stretch out as far as the eye can see. This infinite blue line is my visual metaphor for the "wideness of mercy." It is a declaration that our journey is no longer constrained by the boundaries of the past or the quiet burdens of the soul that once held us back. Here, the horizon is not a wall that stops us, but a gateway that invites us.
